One Night (Make it Last) is a song by pop rock band The New Romantic Devils. It is the fifth single released from the album Painting the Perfect Picture. The song is sung by Rachel Monroe on Lead with backing vocals by Peyton Reed.
Background
The song was written by Rachel, Keith, Archie, Peyton, and Freddy Spencer. The song starts with a building piano and a driving drum beat underneath on the versus. As the song builds it has several experimental elements added to it. Freddy suggested they add some harps and other orchestral arrangements to it. The song underwent several versions until final recording in December of 2020. The original plan was for Peyton to sing lead vocal and as before she declined so Rachel took over. Peyton did sing backing vocals on the track.
